Buck’s Pocket State Park is a part of the Alabama State Park system. It is a great place to take the whole family camping, fishing, and hiking. There are numerous areas here where you can fish and a lot of trails to hike while enjoying the serene beauty of Alabama’s natural landscape. There are five campsites located in Buck’s Pocket State Park and you can access free wireless internet at the park office or at any of the five campsites. The camp facilities operate from 7am until sundown.Buck’s Pocket State Park is named after a legend of the Alabama’s landscape. It is known to be the area where all the defeated public officials go after their unsuccessful election campaign.

This is a 2000 acre park in the northeast corner of Alabama. It is one of the most secluded natural pockets in the Appalachian Mountains chain. The views are stunning and no matter where you venture in the park, you will find streams, trees, and canyons. The picnic area in the park offers a view of the canyon rim view of the natural vista into the pocket below.

The pocket itself is located on an upstream of the Lake Guntersville tributary. This is where you will find the improved campground. The campground provides an abundance of tables, grills, and hiking trails. Also located here is a comfort station, playground and laundry facility.

The Buck’s Pocket State Park is located just two miles north of Grove Oak in Alabama. If you want to come for just a day, you will be able to find plenty of hotel accommodations nearby, or be adventurous and camp right in the park. This is a great place to come and enjoy nature any time of the year.
