Alabama State Park Chickasaw State Park
Located in rural Marengo County lies Chickasaw State Park, a 520 acre roadside park, offering modern campsites, a barbeque grilling pavilion, picnic areas, hiking trails, a wading pool, and other group size pavilions. Although the park may be small, it is an ideal place for group cookouts and gatherings. Located nearby the park is the handicapped-accessible, state-operated hunting facility “Turnipseed-Ikenberry Place Physically Disabled Hunting Area”. Operating hours are from 7am until sundown.
Chickasaw State Park has modern campsites available for rent. Each site includes water and 30 amp electrical connections. There are also primitive camping sites available for rent that also include water and electricity. Restrooms are provided, but shower facilities are not.
There are numerous picnic tables and grills found throughout the park, available on a first come, first served basis. Four group pavilions are available for rent, one of which has a large built-in BBQ pit. You may call the park office to make reservations.
